Read through the link that Raalph gave to you, that is how I figured it all out. You may have to read some more links other than that one, but they are all provided at that site. Definitely read the USBSER.SYS info too, that is needed to be able to use BitPim at all with your e815.

Do yourself a favor and let this guy figure it out for himself. I'm getting soooo tired of answering the same questions over and over again. It doesn't take much to search, read and learn. This kid, (Yes, probably 15 or 16) and others like him, isn't willing to take the time out to read what you've already laid out for noobies. So I'm not going to be as willing to take the time out to tell them again only to have them say "Ohhh, I see now" when they could have seen all along had they read in the first place.

You also did NOT READ my posts in this thread. Some highlights... If you did, after Post #5 you would have stopped trying as you have only USB Bluetooth dongle, and NOT a USB Data cable... Beyond that, post #10 where I paste from my BITPIM page... and that post includes the text Even if you know the "com port" do not manually set it.....

Motorola E815 Hacking

Hacky tools (e.g. seem editors, P2KCommander, etc.) report ‘Connected’ but lock up /quietly fail / do nothing / spit weird errors / show a blank screen when you attempt to access the seems (or whatever else you’re doing);

The more involved way is to download a “driver pack” someone’s already ripped & zipped; you’ll have to point Windows to .inf files yourself, but less wear & tear on your CD-ROM drive, if you care. You can get a driver pack from the downloads section of motomodders.net (registration required to download), or Google for “E815 drivers” or “E815 driver pack”, etc. If you go the MPT route, make sure to run its LiveUpdate until you’re patched up to the latest version.

Note for developers: If some wonderful person were able to fire up a USB sniffer (e.g. USBSnoopy or SnoopyPro) before running PST and enabling these interfaces, and save the log, I or another USB guy could probably throw together a program to replicate that “magic” communication and eliminate the need for PST and all the associated Googling, broken RAR files, spyware concerns and/or Russian crack sites entirely. The modding world needs this! Unfortunately, I’ve installed and uninstalled so many random/questionable/homebrew USB devices on my machine, these tools won’t even work correctly on it anymore. Thanks to UID Tool, we don’t really need this anymore :-)

After reading this well written blog, I find myself questioning who I really am (politically speaking) There are so many of these things with which I agree. But I have a very hard time even fathoming that I could in any way be even remotely aligned with 'democrats'. And that's because there are so many flaming liberals that are so off the deep end that I would be embarrassed to be even remotely associated with them. So now I don't really know how to define myself. There really is not a party that espouses all of my beliefs, but there are a great many from each party that I firmly share. So who am I? I don't really know, but I certainly intend to find out.

I found this website last week from a post on Digital Point, it's an online classifieds website. I've been out craigslist and some local classifieds sites, but D Classifiedes seems to be one of the best online classifieds I've found in a long time. In fact, I had visited the site for an offer to purchase some website links and after doing a little poking around, found I really like the site and added it to my favorites so I could come back and see what kind bargains I could find. The fact that you can search by region or even by the distance from your zip code is what really impressed me. That and the fact that were are actually a great number of ads posted on the site. It's not just a site with a handful of listings, and none of them close by.

D Classifieds has helped me find a home for one of my kittens (still looking for a home for the other three) and I hope to find an '87 - '91 Ford Bronco in good shape somewhere close by. I highly recommend this site and I plan on making it a regular stop on the internet.

-Extended Video Duration- *This hack works with the Verizon UI, not confirmed to work with Alltel yet....??Open Bitpim. (or P2Kcommander)Go to Filesystem TabNavigate to brew/mod/arcmediaRight click on arcconfig.ini file and Save it to your desktopEdit the file using notepad or any text editor (Find the line VidDuration and change the number to 120)Save the fileIn bitpim right-click on arcconfig.ini file and choose Overwrite.Pick the file from your desktop.

(If someone didn't tell me what it was on the forum, I wouldn't have been able to guess what this was. The GPS icon in the Alltel flash looks like a speaker with a slash through it pointing downward at 45degrees to the left. I thought it was related to sounds or notification, but once someone brought it up, I guess it does *vaguely* look like a satellite. --pfn)
